Dr. Russell T. Cephas, Jr., is a Certified Missiologist. He has been married to his wife Jacqueline D. Cephas, for 47 years. They have three adult children who are all licensed to Preach the gospel. 

Meet the President of CGISOE

Dr. Cephas has been in Evangelistic ministry for over 45 years. His international ministry has taken him to fifty-eight nations where he has witnessed more than 500,000 people converted to the Christian faith! He has been involved directly and indirectly in planting over 150 churches in sixteen countries including thirteen children’s churches in Haiti, W.I. 
where he served as a full-time missionary for eleven years. He has self-published more than forty books, manuals and articles on Evangelism, Soul-winning, Discipleship, Church Growth, Church Planting and Global Missions. Dr. Cephas has an Associates of Arts Degree in Social Services and Education, a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, a second Bachelor’s Degree in Church Ministries and Evangelism, a Master’s Degree in Missiology and Church Growth, a second Master’s Degree in Education Administration of Christian Schools with emphasis on Bible college development He has an earned Doctorate Degree in Missiology and an honorary Doctorate in Humanities.

Intake Procedures for Church Growth This dynamic and informative module provides creative insights and innovative procedures for connecting all church members to methodologies that stimulate Holistic Church Growth and stop the revolving door syndrome. Intake Procedures for Church Growth help develop integrity, faithfulness, and inspire congregants to carry out Ministry with Excellence. 202. No Social Gospel. This module explores the origin of the Social Gospel and uncovers the unscriptural intent of those who use the Social Gospel to distract, diminish and deteriorate the Gospel as it is presented and proclaimed in the New Testament. The teachings in this module are antithetical to the philosophy that social ministry is a primary part of preaching the gospel. Say No, to the Social Gospel. 203. Is your Church an Evangelistic Church? This module focuses on a socratic survey of more than 100 questions that explore the Evangelistic strengths and weaknesses of a church. It is designed to help students discover weaknesses that may exist internally and externally so that appropriate adjustments and improvements can be made for the advancement of Evangelistic Ministries. 204. The Spiritual Progression of Revival This module, like none other, explores the various dynamics and spiritual progressions of revival. Students discover what the real stimulus for revival is and how lasting revival is connected to a National Reformation. 205. The Etymology of Evangelism. This module takes students on a journey discovering the etymology of evangelism examining the origin of the word Evangelism while considering the various nuances and semitic stems that manifest themselves in a variety of different ways. This module is a must for students who want to understand Evangelism from the very rudiments of its existence.

206. Dynamics in Characteristics of Followship. This module considers the biblical basis for true discipleship by means of followship. The Dynamics in Characteristics of being a disciple/follower is examined by the positive character traits of a follower of Christ. The application of Biblical Principles related to the attitude, character, and lifestyle of the follower determines the level of Discipleship.

207. Intercession that Accelerates the Harvest Pt. 2 This module considers different Methods of Intercession and its dynamic role and impact on lowering spiritual resistance in the life of the unbeliever. It provides Model Principles for Intercession that cause unbelievers to come to Christ faster than they would otherwise. Students will be amazed that they have lived so long without the powerful insights on intercession shared in this module.
 208. The Character of a Disciple, Pt. 1
This module explores the Biblical Characteristics of Making a Disciple. Character is the particular combination of qualities in someone that makes them different from others. This study examines the qualities that the disciples of old exhibited, and made them stand out in their generation. It examines what they were devoted to, which formed their way of life. In particular, this first part of our study looks at their devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ; their devotion to prayer; and their devotion to God’s word. It is what they were devoted to that determined how they lived their lives and determined their actions. 209. The Character of a Disciple, Pt. 2
This module examines the qualities that the disciples of the old exhibited, which made them stand out in their generation. In order to highlight the character of the disciples, this study examines what they were devoted to, which formed their way of life. In particular, this second part of our study is an in-depth look at their devotion to the oneness (unity) of the body of Christ and their devotion to Christian fellowship. Note that it is what they were devoted to that determined how they lived their lives and determined their actions.

 210. The Theology of Child Evangelism. This module explores the biblical and historical questions regarding the Salvation of Children. Students will learn how God has uniquely used children throughout Biblical history and God's desire to save and use children.

Level 3 Modules/Courses Church Growth International School of Evangelism.

301. Power Evangelism
This is not your typical module/course on evangelism. Students will be challenged t reconsider their traditional understanding of evangelism to an understanding of evangelism that is undergirded by the supernatural power of God. Students will embrace the spiritual reality that all evangelism in the New testament is rooted in the demonstration of power. 302. How to give Effective Invitations
Every Born Again believer will be extremely blessed to learn how to give Evangelistic invitations in a variety of different ways and under different circumstances. Students will learn the spiritual dynamics of giving effective Evangelistic invitations that are sure to result in unbelievers surrendering their life to the Lord Jesus Christ. 303. Perpetration for Short Team Missions
Students taking this module/course will learn all of the interictal ins and outs of short-term mission training and development. No stone will be left unturned as students learn what short-term mission Ministry is with all of it integral logistics ranging from selecting team members to identify the country that misses ministry will be done in training participants permission establishing a budget and how to work together collaboratively to accomplish short-term mission goals and objectives, and much more. 304. No Social Gospel
Every student will learn the deceptive philosophy behind the social gospel movement and come to understand that there is no biblical truth to Social Gospel. Students will investigate the gospel from its origin in the Old testament through the New testament and conclude that there is only one gospel that brings salvation and the gift of eternal life.

305. Witnessing to People involved in Cults This module/course is design historical information on different cults including but not limited to their origin, founder, doctrine, and common practices. Students taking this module/course will be able to compare Christian doctrine with the false doctrines of different cults and thus be better prepare to witness to them the truth of God's word.

306. Ten Dynamics of Church Growth This module/course will provide students with ten clear concise principles the governor Church growth from a holistic perspective. Students will learn that not all 10 principles have to be appropriated for churches to grow any combination of church growth principles discovered in this module/course will provide the foundation for guarantee holistic Church growth.

307. Cross Cultural Church Planting
The students will learn principles and Dynamics of planting churches outside of their own culture. Students will learn the foundational strategy for starting churches in another culture. Most importantly students will learn what not to do and starting a new church and another culture. Students learn the cultural sensitivities that must be acquired and planting churches contextually. 308. The Theology of Child Evangelism
This module places of demand on students to re-examine the theology of child conversion. The question of can children be saved is carefully studied from a biblical and theological perspective. Students will learn how God has used children over the centuries in rather a miraculous ways from leaving Nations to inviting them to come to him personally to be the recipient of salvation and the gift of eternal life. 309. Church Growth by Taking Cities
Students will learn how Christians have collaborated together establishing spiritual strategies designed to topple territorial spirits and ruling powers of darkness. That rule over cities and by extension control and manipulate the lives of people under their Dominion. Students will learn how these powerful historic systems of spiritual governments have been broken and demolished and how new governments of spiritual authority of the Kingdom of light have replaced them. 310. 401. Characteristics of Discipleship (Part 2) This module is a sequel to characteristics of discipleship part 1. This module/cours examines the critically essential character of a mature disciple.
This module/coursemaintains that character development is the biblical foundation for developing and reproducing believers who are unwilling to compromise their Christian convictions about living a life that exemplifies The Life of Christ. 402. Salvation This module/course is a study of what the Bible teaches about salvation it includes but is not limited to understanding redemption, soteriology, salvation and what the Bible says about eternal life. This module/course on salvation is designed to equip believers with a clear understanding of what the Bible says about the gift of  salvation and so much more. 403. Power Evangelism Part 2 This module/course entitled power evangelism is a sequel to the first module on power evangelism. This second module on power evangelism is taught vicariously through the life of the president of church growth International School of evangelism. Students will be enlightened and inspired after hearing the personal testimonies of Dr Cephas are he shares first hand Ministry experiences of power evangelism. 404. Effective Crusade Evangelism
This module provides fundamental information on the history of crusade evangelism, what the New testament teaches about crusade evangelism. Is module also provides students with practical step by step approach to conducting successful crusade evangelism. 405. Mass Media Evangelism
Mass media evangelism is a module/course that every student will receive much needed information and insights about the use of mass media for the purpose of evangelizing unbelievers. This module/course will take a look at a variety of mass media that include television, radio, Facebook, tick tock and other media platforms for conducting evangelism successfully.

406. Evangelizing Cities for Christ
This module/course examines what the New testament has to say about evangelizing cities for Christ. Students will learn the various Dynamics, and principles to be implemented in evangelizing cities for Christ. Students will also learn from second hand authorities how God has used their ministries for evangelizing cities. 407. Gospel Preaching
This module/course on gospel preaching provides students with a fundamental explanation of what the gospel is and its relationship to preaching. Students taking this module/course will understand that all biblical preaching is Evangelistic in nature because of the audience being people who are in need of salvation and the gift of eternal life. Students will learn various styles of preaching the gospel including the importance of extending an invitation of salvation to the Lost. 408. Soul Winning
This module/course on Soul winning is a practical course in winning unbelievers to Christ. As students will undergo various scenarios were unbelievers will be witness to using scriptures that direct unbelievers to establishing a saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Soul winning is un-separably connected to evangelism and unbelievers accepting the gospel witness and receiving Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and savior. 409. Strategic Missions Ministries
This module/course on strategic mission Ministry will help students understand and identify with a variety of different types of mission Ministry. CGISOE CERTIFICATE SAMPLE

CGISOE SCHOLARSHIP FOR NEW STUDENTS

Requirements: Welcome new students to CGISOE. Your scholarship has provided you with free enrollment and free courses through all four levels . Howerever, if you desire a Certificate for Level 1, there is a fee to receive an official certificate with your name on it. Furthermore, if you wish to receive a diploma after completing Level 2, there is a 50-hour Practicum that you must complete successfully as well as pay $100 for your diploma. So, each of the 4 Levels of study requires a $100 fee if you wish to have an official document with your name on it. Please see the example of the Level 1 certificate. Each level will appear different in color and wording according to the Level and will be signed and dated by the Dean and President of CGISOE.

THE ACADEMIC PRACTICUM FOR LEVEL 2

Church Growth International School of Evangelism The Academic Practicum Committee Level 2 Practicum What is a Practicum? A practicum is a focused course of specialized studies, whereby the student is required to participate in the application of the academic theory and scriptural principles that have been taught. The practicum allows the student to conduct or carryout practical ministry under spiritual supervision. The Level Two Practicum is required by all students who have completed all of the modules in the Level Two Curriculum, and wish to receive a diploma. The Level 2 practicum requires each student to participate in 50 hours of practical ministry that is Evangelistic in one of the six categories of studies: 1. Evangelism 2. Soul Winning 3. Discipleship 4. Church Growth 5. Church Planting 6. Global Missions Special note: Students cannot arbitrarily select a family member or friend to be the supervisor of their practicum. The administration of CGISOE highly recommends that the Pastor of the student be the supervisor. If the pastor is unavailable to be the supervisor, then another credible leader of the church may be considered. ▪ Each student must provide the name of their supervisor, WhatsApp cell phone number, and email address of the person who will be holding the student accountable for accomplishing the 50-hour practicum. ▪ The supervisor of the student must be able to verify the evangelistic activity and length of time. ▪ Any ministry event that is evangelistic can be repeated several times to increase the student’s proficiency such as: witnessing to an unbeliever, conducting the same method of evangelism over again, sharing your testimony of salvation, or leading a person to saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. ▪ Each student must keep a written journal or voice recording of what type of evangelistic activity they were involved in and the length of time that they were involved in it. 1. Practicum in Evangelism: ● Read five articles on Evangelism on the internet, providing the names of the articles and authors of each article. ● Develop an Evangelistic Contact Sheet of 10 people who are in need of salvation. Write the names of family members and friends and other people you know who are not Christians on your ECS. ● Spend time in intercession. Pray over the principles that you have learned regarding praying for unbelievers. ● Spend time developing closer relationships with people on your ECS in an effort to lower resistance towards the gospel. ● Identify and memorize seven verses of scripture on Evangelism. ● Determine how the seven verses that you have memorized can be used in witnessing to a person in need of salvation. ● Look for an opportunity to share your personal testimony of salvation and encourage the person to surrender their life to Jesus Christ. ● Conduct an interview with your pastor and one other Church leader to discover their understanding of Evangelism. ● Select one or more methods of Evangelism to implement over a two or three-week period. ● Train other Christians to work with you in carrying out the method or methods of Evangelism that you have selected. ● Make sure that the method of Evangelism is commensurate with the audience that you are targeting the gospel towards. ● Don't neglect to give a persuasive and compelling Evangelistic invitation to the targeted audience after you have shared the method of Evangelism. ● Conduct an evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses that were observed using this method of evangelism. ● Find another Christian that you can roleplay witnessing to- 1 hour for 5 days. ● Roleplay sharing your personal testimony of salvation and give an invitation for people to repent of sin and accept Jesus Christ as their Savior. 2. Practicum in Soul Winning: a. Read one book on Soul-winning and write a five-page summary of the book. b. Identify and memorize seven verses of scriptures or passages on Soul-winning. c. Repeat the seven verses on Soul- winning to another person. d. Develop an Evangelistic Contact Sheet of 10 people who are in need of salvation. Write the names of family members and friends and other people you know who are not Christians on your ECS. e. Spend time in intercession daily for the salvation of the unsaved on your ECS. f. Pray the principles that you have learned regarding praying for unbelievers. g. Spend time developing closer relationships with people on your ECS in an effort to lower their resistance towards the gospel. h. Remember Soul-Winning does not have to be difficult. Ask God to send you to people who are ripe and ready to give their life to Jesus. i. Look for an opportunity to share your personal testimony of salvation and encourage the person to surrender their life to Jesus Christ. j. Conduct an interview with your pastor and one other Church leader to discover their understanding of Soul-Winning. k. Find a Christian that you can roleplay witnessing and leading to the Lord with. l. Spend time each day rejoicing and celebrating the harvest of souls that have not surrendered to Jesus as of yet. m. Pray for the unsaved that you want to win to Christ, to have an ear to hear and eyes to see, so that they are able to come to Christ faster than they would have otherwise. n. Practice Spiritual Discernment and Word of Knowledge while involved in Soul-Winning ministry. 3. Practicum in Discipleship: a. If you have not been properly Discipled, humble yourself and submit to a spiritual leader for the purpose of being Discipled. b. Learn and memorize seven verses of scripture that have to do with becoming a Disciple of Christ. c. If you have been Discipled and you qualify to become a Disciple Maker, start with one Christian who is willing to and desires to be a Disciple. d. Read a book about becoming a Disciple or Discipleship and write a five-page summary of the book. e. Research 5 articles on the internet about being a Disciple or making Disciples of others. Identify the names of each book and the authors. f. Conduct an interview with your pastor and another spiritual leader to discover their understanding of what a Disciple is and how to make Disciples. g. Conduct a second interview of another pastor to discover their understanding of Discipleship. h. In your opinion, are Christians in your church being Discipled and if so what method or strategy is being used for Discipleship? i. Write a one-page explanation on why Discipleship is important for the newly converted. j. Participate in three, weekly Global Discipleship Team Zoom conference with Pastor Francis Zoom ID #8564233950 Pass Code 471986. k. Write a one-page paper each on Disciple-Making by developing character, purpose, and spiritual gifts. l. Conduct an interview of Christians. Ask forty Christians if they have ever summited themselves to a spiritual leader to be a Disciple. 4. Practicum in Church Growth: ● Learn and memorize seven verses on Church growth. ● Train and develop one other person on seven verses that you have learned about Church Growth. ● Read one book about Church Growth and write a five-page summary of the book. ● Research five articles about Church Growth from the internet and identify the names and authors of each article ● Write one page paper identifying factors that are preventing Church Growth from taking place at your local church. ● What Church Growth principles need to be implemented at your local church? Conduct an interview with your pastor and one other spiritual leader to discover their understanding of Church Growth and how it should take place. ● Conduct three other interviews of pastors or church leaders about their thoughts about Church Growth. ● Write two pages on what principles of Church Growth need to be implemented for your church to experience holistic Church Growth. ● Write one page on why your church is growing or not growing. ● Write a one-page paper on how the module ”Is your Church an Evangelistic Church” can help your church experience Church Growth. ● Write a one-page paper on Intake Procedures for Church Growth and how it can help a church experience Church Growth. 5. Practicum in Church Planting: a. Learn and memorize seven verses on Church Planting. b. Train another Christian on the seven verses on Church Planting. c. Read one book on Church Planting and write a five page summary of it.. d. Research five articles about Church Planting from the internet and identify the name of each article and the author of each article. e. Conduct an interview with your pastor and another spiritual leader to discover their understanding of Church Planting. f. Write a one page paper on Church Planting. Include what you think are the most important factors in planting a new church. g. Write a one-page paper in your own words explaining why many churches that are new don't survive. h. Write a one-page paper explaining three different ways of planting a church. I. Write a one-page paper explaining the three critical factors in Church Planting. j. Conduct an interview with 7 pastors, asking them the reason why most churches fail to be successful. 6. Practicum in Global Missions: a. Learn and memorize seven verses of scripture that concern Global Missions. b. Train one other Christian on the seven verses you memorized. c. Read one book on Global Missions and write a five-page summary of the book. d. Research five articles about Global Missions on the internet and provide the name of each author and the title of each article. e. Conduct an interview with your pastor and one other spiritual leader in your local church to discover their understanding of Global Missions. f. Conduct an interview with 7 pastors or leaders of seven different churches to discover their understanding of Global Missions. g. Write a one-page paper explaining why Global Missions is critically important to reaching the world with the gospel and fulfilling the Great Commission. h. Write a one-page paper explaining why there are so few Black Christians involved in global missions compared to White Christians. i. Interview a Christian who has taken a mission trip outside your country. j. If you had a passport and could get a visa to come to America for a 10-day Evangelistic Mission trip, would you consider being a part of a short-term mission team in 2024-2025? k. Identify five different types of short-term Mission Trips and explain their importance. l. Interview the International Dean of CGISOE about his experiences in Global Missions. m. If possible, attend a Mission conference in your area to learn more about Missions. Again, it is critically important that each student conducting the practicum have an approved supervisor!

Application form to gain Admission into Church Growth International School of Evangelism

  However, if Pastors, Church Leaders, and Laymen do want to receive a certificate or diploma of completion from CGISOE, each student must successfully complete all modules in the Level One, the Level Two or the Level Three programs of studies with a minimum score of 70%.
Each examination consists of Twenty True or False questions. Students must answer 14 of the 20 questions correctly.
Once a student has successfully scored 70% or higher, they cannot take the examination again. 

If a student does not successfully pass the examination at 70% or better, they may take the examination again.
Students completing all examinations in the Level One, Level Two, Level Three or Level Four program, that want to receive a certificate or diploma must pay $100 USD. This fee covers the expenses of the certificate or diploma and letter of authentication confirming the student’s completion of studies at CGISOE.
